Ukraine’s increase of particleboard customs duties may result in furniture industry crisis
Ukraine’s increase of particleboard import duties may result in the crisis of national furniture industry.
Ukrainian Ministry of economics and European integration held hearings on this case on April, 15 2004. In the course of the hearings the average price of particleboard imported from Poland was raised from $47,69 per 1 cub m to $175, Slovac particleboard – from $61 per cub m to $205. Meanwhile Ukrainian particleboard prices was set at $221 per cub m.
Ukraine increased customs duties on Polish particleboard up to 20,93%, Slovac particleboard –up to 34,78%.
