Ukraine: Osnova Concern reports
During 11 months 2004, Zhidachev Pulp and Paper Mill belonging to Osnova concern manufactured 46852 thousand sq. m. of corrugated boxes, 19698 thousand sq. m. of corrugated board, 18866.5 thousand sq. m. of technical corrugated. Production output increased 15% compared with the same period a year ago.
Beginning December, top managers of Izmail Pulp and Cardboard Mill belonging to Osnova concern hold talks with representatives of Tetra Pak Ukraine concerning possible cooperation in recycling Tetra Pak products.
Commenting on the situation, Deter Rudel, top-manager of Tetra Pak Ukraine, underlined that each year Ukrainian consumers use 16–17 thousand tons of Tetra Pak packaging. For the time present, none of it is recycled, which is quite unsatisfactory for the environment
