Ukraine: Pulp and paper output increased 13.7%
According to Association “Ukrpapir,” in 2004 Ukrainian pulp and paper enterprises manufactured more than 700 thousand tons of paper and board, which constituted an upturn of 13.7% compared with the previous year.
The most rapid increase was shown in chipboard sector (47.8% or 4.4 thousand tons), in writing and printing papers (23% or 17.7 thousand tons), and in containerboard sector including paper for corrugated (17.7% or 390 thousand tons). The industry churned out 14.6% more board shipping containers (546.6 thousand sq.m).
In 2003 the growth of paper and board production amounted to 8.2%.
