Coordinators of the European wood program of the WWF consider, that management of a forestry of Russia demands the big attention.
As Business News Agency in the press-service of fund have informed, the meeting of coordinators passed within 5 days in territory of the project " the Pskov modelling wood " (Pskov). Each year heads of wood programs WWF from Austria, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Latvia, the Great Britain and other countries gather the purpose — coordination of activity of the national organizations of the WWF. This time the meeting has passed in Russia. A debatable theme became a situation which has developed today in management of the Russian forestry. The role of modelling woods during reforming wood sector of Russia was discussed on an example of the project " the Pskov modelling wood ". Participants of a meeting have emphasized, that in Russia, the modelling woods WWF working by principles steady forestry, evidently show, as economically effectively it is possible to conduct wood business, thus, not causing harm to a nature and people. For achievement of these purposes the project " the Pskov modelling wood " has developed on demonstration sites the Russian — Swedish technology of various kinds of cabins (continuous with preservation key biotopes and a plenty of a seed pine, care cabins); has created the computer program with which help it is possible to calculate variants of conducting a forestry for hundred years forward depending on carried out forestry actions; for the first time in the Pskov area has carried out the forest organization on the basis of landshaftno-ecological planning. New practice of conducting the forestry, based on the conventional world principles, " the Pskov modelling wood " widely and actively discusses the project with the public of area and area. Also at a working meeting questions lumber-trade and investments in the Russian wood sector were discussed. Measures for prevention of illegal cabins in Russia which already today make 25-30% were developed.
