World chemical market pulp producer inventories increased by 200,000 tonnes in August
In August, world chemical market pulp producer inventories increased by 200,000 tonnes to 3,988 thousands of tonnes compared to the previous month, according to report by Pulp and Paper Products Council. At current shipping rates, it is estimated that producers held 41 days of supply at the end of August, 3 days more than the previous month.
Pulp producers operated at 97% of capacity, 1% more than August last year. Market pulp production rose by 3,3% to 3,217 thousands of tonnes compared to the previous month. Market pulp shipments were down 3.6% year-over-year, but were 5.2 percent higher on a year-to-date basis.
