SCA and Norrbotten forest owners association sign partnership agreement
Norrbottens Läns Skogsägarförening (the Association of Forest Owners in Norrbotten County) will further process a significant volume of sawn pine products from the Munksund Sawmill under a partnership agreement for contract manufacturing of dried, planed and impregnated products.
“The contract with Norrbottens Läns Skogsägarförening means that our ability to produce and sell refined products is significantly increased,” says Anders Nordmark, manager of the Munksund Sawmill.
The sawmill in Boden, which is owned by Norrbottens Läns Skogsägarförening, has long had problems with profitability. The Boden Sawmill, which has a capacity of 70,000 cubic meters of sawn timber, will cease cutting operations on January 1 and will use the trimmer, drying kilns, planing and impregnation machinery for contract manufacturing of products from Munksund. The association will also undertake to deliver sawlogs to SCA’s sawmills.
