Russia Ready to Provide More Facilities to Fight Greek Fire
“We are ready to execute any order of minister or the government of the
RF to help Greece fight wild fire,” Chupriyan told the reporters on
Tuesday. “As additional force, heavy Il-76TD of Russia’s Emergency
Ministry could be sent there.”
Eighty nine seats of wild fire have been reported in Greece over the
last day. The list of victims sets forth 63 names. The devastating fire
that has burnt hundreds of houses and thousands of wood hectares is
still developing in some regions of the country.
Even before the fire has turned into catastrophe, Russia provided more
aircraft to Greece than any other country. Be-200 plane of the RF
Emergency Ministry, six Mi-26 helicopters, two Mi-8 helicopters and
five Ka-32 helicopters are currently there.
