Wood Processing Seminar in Russia. A seminar on a theme of “Complex processing of wood in conditions of the Far East” was carried out on March 12-13, 2003 at the Japanese center of Khabarovsk, Russia, under aegis of General consulate of Japan in Khabarovsk.

It was the second seminar following the one in a year ago, which focused on workers of wood complex in Russian Far East region. It was financed by the Japanese government, as well as the previous seminar in last year. The seminar primarily targeted at studying effective utilization of raw materials as concerns minimizing waste parts of wood through technological process, including ideas on recycling of the waste products. Both Russian and Japanese experts gave lectures. From Russia side, Khabarovsk State Technical University and Siberian State Technological University joined, and from Japan side, Biotec Co., Ltd. Wood Recycle Center and Ohnishi Co., Ltd. participated. Japan Lumber Journal
