Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to discuss glaring situation with export of round timber
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, at the upcoming talks with the leaders of Finland and China, is going to raise the question of the Russian timber export. He stated this on Monday at the meeting with heads of parliamentary factions who raised the matter of a complicated situation with the export of Russian timber.
"This is a crying situation," the president conceded, noting, it remains constant for years. "The export of round timber goes on," he added. "This also depends on the stance of our neighbours," Medvedev holds. "The president of Finland will be here tomorrow. We must also negotiate on this with our Chinese friends. We are interested in the development of domestic timber processing," said the head of state.
