Germany: Lumber production looks set to only increase slightly in 2010
Softwood lumber production in Germany, at a total of 18.5m m³, could
prove in the current year to be roughly 16 % lower than that achieved
in 2008.
It emerges from the situation report drawn up by the German
delegation at this year’s meeting of the UNECE Timber Committee in
Geneva that with a softwood lumber production amounting to an estimated
19.5m m³ in 2010, the figures achieved in the years 2005 to 2008 will
again not be reached for the time being.
