Russian timber holding FSC-certified
Cherepovetsles forest enterprises are located in seven districts of the Vologda Region on the territory exceeding 835.000 ha. The company sells annually more than 1,2 millions cubic meter of round timber. Cherepovetsles exports timber to major wood processing companies in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Germany.
JSC Belorucheysky Leskhoz, the fellow subsidiary of Cherepovetsles, was selected to be assessed according to the FSC Principles and Criteria. With its concession of 389.000 ha Belorucheysky Leskhoz increases the forest area to be assessed by GFA Terra Systems to 1,009 Mio ha in Russian Federation.
The Pre-Audit of Belorucheysky Leskhoz is to be conducted to the end of December 2003. According to the project time schedule the Main Certification Audit is planned for spring 2004. Working on the project GFA Terra Systems acts in close collaboration with Greenpeace Russia , WWF Russia, the FSC National Working Group Russia and other stakeholders.
